Cooling maintenance
AC Maintenance and the $89 Tune-Up
A $89 residential tune-up on a published 20 point cooling checklist, or one visit each season through the Chill Club.
Chapter 01
What a dirty coil costs you by July
An air conditioner that has not been looked at in a year is quietly losing ground. Dust films the evaporator coil and the indoor air moves less freely. The condensing coil outside packs with cottonwood fluff and lawn clippings and cannot shed heat. The condensate drain grows a slime plug that waits for the first humid week to back up. A capacitor drifts out of range and the compressor draws more current to compensate.
None of it announces itself. The house just takes a little longer to cool, the electric bill creeps, and the system fails in the one week it was needed most. The $89 AC tune-up for residential homes exists to find these things in April instead of August.

A Pro1 thermostat reading 77 degrees, set to 75, with cooling running
Twenty points, read in the order a technician works
The cooling tune-up is a published 20 point checklist. It covers the electrical side: wiring, terminal tightness, supply voltage, and the amperage draw on the blower and the compressor. It covers the air side: filters, the blower wheel, air leaks, the evaporator coil, and duct mildew. It covers the refrigerant side: the line set checked for leaks, Schrader valves, and refrigerant levels. And it covers the outdoor unit, with the condensing fan checked for balance and rotation, the condensate drain cleared, and the condensing coil washed with water.
The last step is the thermostat settings, so what you asked the system to do is what it is doing. The full checklist is published by Mr. Chill, and this is the short version of it.
Chapter 03
The Chill Club, one visit each season
The Chill Club is $179 a year. Additional units at the same location are $99 each. It includes the spring cooling tune-up and the fall heating tune-up, priority service, 10% off repairs, additions and cleans, and no service call fee with a repair. It also carries a 2 year warranty on any parts replaced, and 100% of your most recent repair cost is rebated toward a new A/C system.
Evelyn Grevelle has used it for years. Her technician Fausto has "checked my two units out twice a year for about five years," and she wrote that "I am in the Mr. Chill Club which means that I get preferential service if needed." A tune-up from (832) 698-4273 or a Chill Club membership both start with the same phone call.
Mr. Chill has kept Tomball air conditioners running for over 20 years. NATE-certified technicians, licence TACLB27361E, licensed and insured. Call (832) 698-4273.
